Budapest man caught with 30 million forint worth of drugs
More than 5 kilogrammes of drugs – cocaine, amphetamine and MDMA – were found in a Budapest man's flat. The National Investigation Office (KR NNI) has sought the suspect's detention.
30 million forint worth of drugs in a Budapest flat
Police seized more than five kilogrammes of drugs from a flat in Budapest; the black-market value of the seized substances is approximately 30 million forint – the Index reported based on a statement from police.hu.
The Drug Crime Prevention Office of the National Investigation Office of the Ready Police (KR NNI) Pécs branch initiated an investigation against a Budapest man on suspicion of drug trafficking. Officers arrested him on 29 June: they found three packets of white, cocaine-like powder in his clothing.
At the suspect's flat and storage unit, officers found a total of 5,083 grammes of amphetamine, 406 grammes of cocaine – of which 25 doses were already portioned – and 7.4 grammes of crystal MDMA. The authorities also seized 770,000 forint in cash and a private vehicle, and froze the man's bank account.
Investigators conducted house searches at five consumers: three were questioned as suspects, and 181 grammes of marijuana was seized from one of them; two other individuals tested positive on a rapid drug test.
According to the statement, the National Investigation Office is charging the man with drug trafficking; he has been taken into criminal custody and the office has sought his detention.
