Balázs Bús, the former deputy chairman of the National Cultural Fund (NKA), was arrested and placed in pre-trial detention on 23 June. According to suspicions, billions of forints were distributed before the election, and the politician may have been involved in their distribution. However, he has not been granted permission to speak with his relatives and friends since then – as reported by 24.hu.
The Fidesz politician's defence counsel has turned to the prosecutor's office and requested a review of the proceedings. According to his legal representative, the detainee has been unable to communicate with family members and acquaintances for two weeks, which appears to be an unjustifiably strict restriction.
Bús Balázs's case emerged from support decisions made before the election, which affected the fate of significant public funds. The investigation is currently ongoing.
