Drug dealers arrested in Tata: selling crystal, accepting stolen bicycles as payment
At the end of June, investigators from Komárom-Esztergom County, with the involvement of multiple police stations, cracked down on a local drug trafficking network – according to 24.hu.
The three-member group was identified after an extended investigation. The leader of the gang was a 55-year-old man from Tata. According to suspicions, they not only sold prohibited substances to adults but also involved minors. The crystal was additionally mixed with health-damaging substances, which posed a serious risk to buyers.
The group's operations also included the sale of stolen goods. Customers brought bicycles, electric scooters and sound equipment in exchange. This activity encouraged further thefts among residents of the area.
During the investigation, police uncovered the full customer base as well as the origin of the stolen items. The main organiser was taken into custody on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering. His associates were also placed in pre-trial detention as suspects. With the confiscated materials and the apprehended offenders, residents of the area can live in a safer environment.
