Police conducted raids in Pécs, in the Kertváros district, during which two alleged dealers and several users were taken into custody. During the house searches, nearly two kilogrammes of suspect material was found, according to Police.hu.
Officers from the Street Support Section began the operation on 18 July 2018 in the evening. Five men were first brought in; smaller quantities of suspect plant material, around 8.4 and 11.1 grammes, were found on them. The on-site rapid test came back positive for all of them. The Pécs Police Headquarters ordered an investigation against them for drug possession.
The operation continued: that same evening, in the same part of the city, two men and one woman were arrested at their homes. According to investigators, they were distributing the substance. In the two apartments, a total of nearly two kilogrammes of paste, tablets and dried plant material was seized. Cash and contaminated equipment were also confiscated.
The 21-year-old woman is suspected of drug possession, her 42-year-old associate and the 25-year-old man arrested at the other house are suspected of drug dealing. The two alleged dealers were remanded in custody, and police filed a request for their pre-trial detention.
