Drug gang busted in Tata: children addicted to crystal meth
On 30 June, Tata investigators arrested a 55-year-old man and two associates together with their county counterparts. The group is suspected of supplying prohibited substances to residents of the region for a long time.
Police uncovered the network through work lasting many months. According to the suspicion, the ringleader not only sold crystal meth but also involved minors in consumption—children who had not yet reached the age of 14. Moreover, the goods were mixed with a dangerous substance, which directly endangered the lives of the buyers.
Members of the group accepted goods obtained through theft as payment: bicycles, scooters and audio equipment. In doing so, they also encouraged thefts in the surrounding area.
Through the cooperation of county police departments, investigators uncovered both the customer base and the origin of the stolen goods. The 55-year-old man was immediately taken into custody on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering; his two associates were likewise charged with suspicion.
