Prosecution seeks life sentence for Kaposvár stabbing murder
The Kaposvár Regional Investigation Prosecution Service has brought charges against a former soldier who fatally stabbed his common-law wife in November last year. They are requesting an actual life sentence.

According to 444.hu, the Kaposvár Regional Investigation Prosecution Service has brought charges against a former soldier who fatally stabbed his former common-law wife in Kaposvár in November last year.
According to a prosecution statement, the man, in his late twenties, quarrelled with the woman in an upstairs room of a two-storey residential house. A relative of the woman was downstairs and, hearing the argument, began to climb the stairs.
The man then went downstairs and struck the middle-aged relative in the head with his fist, causing him to fall down the stairs. The defendant then went into the kitchen and took two knives with the intention of killing his former girlfriend and her relative. He seriously assaulted both: the woman died at the scene, the man was taken to hospital and suffered injuries that healed within eight days.
The prosecution also found drugs in the defendant's body and at the flat. The indictment contains charges of attempted murder committed with particular cruelty against multiple persons, as well as drug possession and consumption. The prosecutors are requesting a life sentence and have also requested that detention be maintained.
On 24 November, the Hungarian Defence Force terminated the man's military service on grounds of unsuitability.
