A court has ordered the remand in custody of a man allegedly accused of attempting to push his former partner from the roof of a high-rise residential building.

A man accused of attempting to murder his former partner on the top floor of a residential building has been remanded in custody for thirty days, according to the Miskolc Court.
According to the investigation, the suspect had previously assaulted the woman regularly while intoxicated. The victim therefore ended the relationship. However, the man could not accept the breakup and on Sunday evening broke into the woman's home. He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her onto the roof of the ten-storey building.
On the roof, he told her he would not let her go while insulting and hitting her. When the woman tried to escape, the man picked her up, dragged her to the railing, and hung her over the edge. The victim eventually broke free from his grip. Passersby who heard the cries for help contacted the authorities. The woman ran back to her flat before police arrived.
Investigators are conducting proceedings for attempted murder and unlawful detention. The court justified the remand order citing the suspect's previous harassment of other women and the danger that he might attack the victim again or intimidate witnesses.
