A 77-year-old man from Somogy County is suspected of failing to provide assistance after striking a pedestrian on Üllői Road on 15 January, who later died from his injuries.

On 15 January, in the early hours at around 2:44 am in the ninth district on Üllői Road, a vehicle struck a pedestrian, but the driver did not stop to help. The injured man was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Traffic police officers from BRFK apprehended the suspect at Ferenc Liszt International Airport just three hours after the accident, where they prevented his departure abroad. The 77-year-old man living in Somogy County was taken into custody on suspicion of failing to provide assistance. The suspect did not lodge a complaint against the proceedings and said he did not know that he had hit a person – he believed he had only struck a snow barrier.
