Fidesz-linked Megafon propagandist István Szakács detained on terrorism charges
Former state secretary Péter Takács said that István Szakács, a former propagandist for Megafon, was detained on Wednesday morning. The charge is preparation of a terrorist act.

According to reporting from Google News HU — Crime (hu), former health state secretary Péter Takács posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday morning that right-wing influencer István Szakács had been detained. "The fearful regime detained one well-known right-wing influencer this morning, István Szakács," wrote the former health state secretary. In his comment, he added that the charge is preparation of a terrorist act.
According to Péter Takács's claim, Szakács's "crime" was that he reacted in an outraged post to news of Viktor Orbán being threatened with detention.
Szakács's wife also posted on her husband's Facebook page on Wednesday morning. "My husband has not committed a violent act. He simply voiced his outrage and said: if Viktor Orbán is taken away illegally, we will not remain silent about it either," reads the post. According to her account, at six o'clock in the morning seven police officers arrived at their home, conducted a search, and then took her husband away. "For me, this is one of the most shocking images of today's Hungary," she concluded her post.
Two hours earlier, a single phrase appeared on the page, presumably still from Szakács: "Detained."
István Szakács was an employee of the Megafon propaganda platform during the Fidesz government era, when the organisation received billions of forints in state support; the organisation has by now practically ceased to exist. The M1 public service channel substituted a comedy-drama by Róbert Koltai for its Wednesday morning news programme, while the Bartók radio's music played on Kossuth radio.
