Sold single ticket seven times for Hungary-Ireland match

According to police.hu, a 35-year-old Budapest man advertised a single match ticket in November 2025 in an online supporters' group for the Hungarian national football team's match against Ireland in November – then attempted to sell the same ticket to seven different buyers.

The offender charged varying amounts per buyer: the advance transfer payment ranged between 16,250 and 17,500 forints, which included the ticket price and the cost of the name transfer. He did send the ticket to one buyer; the following day, that person ordered another ticket and transferred the requested amount again, but this time received nothing. The seller then became unreachable.

Police in Bonyhád traced the victims, who live in various parts of the country, and also questioned the suspect. The police conducted an investigation on suspicion of fraudulent trading committed in a business-like manner, and sent the case documents to the prosecutor's office with a recommendation to press charges.
