A father in Győr inflicted a fatal knife wound on his own son on Saturday evening, according to Index. RTL reports that the father attacked his child because the boy had eaten a piece of fruit.
According to a mutual acquaintance, the man may have stabbed his son at the flat. The victim tried to flee, but the father pursued him into the street and stabbed him again. The stab wounds to the chest caused such serious injuries that the boy lost his life in hospital.
According to the acquaintance, the father and son may have used drugs together on the tragic evening, and locals reported that this had happened before. The two men's relationship was in any case troubled: the acquaintance said they argued constantly. The victim had three children.
The suspect, around 50 years old, was arrested by authorities later and taken into custody. The relevant prosecutor's office submitted a petition for his detention.
