Fatal stabbing in Óbuda – young man arrested
On 22 June 2026, at 13:24 in the afternoon, an alert was received by the Budapest police: a bleeding woman was reported on the terrace of a house in District III. Officers responding to the scene found the elderly woman, and beside her a 21-year-old man who was immediately taken into custody.
Emergency service personnel began life-saving measures immediately, but the injured woman could not be saved. The arrested man was transported to hospital.
The Budapest Police Headquarters Homicide Division opened an investigation for murder and is examining the circumstances of the tragedy.
