Rape of three minors: charges imminent in Hajdú-Bihar case

Human trafficking and sexual violence: child abuse case in Hajdú-Bihar heads to prosecution
According to 24.hu, charges are soon to be filed against two men from Hajdú-Bihar who committed sexual assault against girls aged between 11 and 13. The police have concluded their investigation and the case has been handed to the public prosecutor's office.
The case came to light in September 2024, when police detained six people on suspicion of human trafficking and sexual assault. One of those arrested was a 54-year-old man from Debrecen, who was found to have regularly paid for access to girls aged 11–12, several of whom he raped.
One of the ringleaders of the criminal organisation was a 27-year-old woman from Hajdúböszörmény. She lured old and new acquaintances into sexual activity by promising easy money, then took nearly all the proceeds from them. She then sold the already-recruited minors to four men, who also forced the victims into sexual acts. The perpetrators used drugs, alcohol and medication, but also used threats and beatings to coerce the girls into encounters with casual partners.
Shortly after the September 2024 raid, investigators identified another perpetrator. According to the allegation, this 29-year-old man raped a 13-year-old girl in the summer of 2024, then sold her to an unknown person for money. Commandos arrested him in a coordinated operation in Hajdúhadház. The authorities charged him with human trafficking and sexual assault, placed him in criminal detention, and subsequently remanded him in custody.
During the investigation, it also came to light that a teenager from Hajdú-Bihar has been a victim of regular sexual violence by her father for years, and was consequently afraid to go home from school.
