A young local man was arrested and remanded in custody by the court on suspicion of multiple robberies, theft and unlawful appropriation.

Police in Heves arrested a twenty-two-year-old man on 30 June on the basis of an arrest warrant. The suspect was charged with committing five separate criminal offences during questioning.
Last November, the young man intimidated an acquaintance on one of the city's main streets and took his mobile phone. In early June, he broke into a woman's flat where he stole a telephone and money. Two weeks later, he attempted to steal a valuable car from the entrance of a plot of land in Heves, but instead of reversing with the vehicle, he drove forwards, struck a tree and became stuck, forcing him to flee on foot.
The following day, he unlawfully took solar-powered decorative lighting and plants from a cemetery. On the day he was arrested, he took documents belonging to a woman without permission, which police found in his pocket. The court ordered his remand in custody.
