An enhanced police operation has been underway in the 11th district since the end of May. Last week, 436 people were checked, twenty individuals were detained, including ten wanted persons.

Since 28 May, heightened police presence has been in effect at one of the busiest junctions in Budapest's 11th district, near Kelenföld railway station – according to a Police.hu report. Following reports from residents, officers from the district police station, along with the capital's public order and response units, are taking part in the operation.
Officers patrol both independently and jointly with public safety inspectors, day and night alike. Between 9 and 17 June, screening checks resulted in 436 people being inspected. In the operation, twenty individuals were taken into custody or brought to the police station. Ten of them were on wanted lists. Two people were suspected of disturbing the peace, one of theft, and another of possessing a prohibited substance.
In the drugs case, a 32-year-old man named T. Márk was caught. When his clothing was searched, nearly fifty grammes of green-coloured narcotic substance was found in a bag. According to field sampling, the suspect had also consumed it. Investigators took a statement from him regarding unauthorised possession of a controlled substance. The seized package was sent for further expert examination.
According to weekly statistics, eight reports were filed for street alcohol consumption. Fixed penalty fines were issued once for public nuisance violations and once for traffic offences. The police and the local authority will continue to maintain heightened checks at the district's busy locations through their ongoing cooperation.
