Bicycle and scooter theft spree in Kőbánya – 31-year-old man arrested
A 31-year-old man has been arrested by Budapest police on suspicion of repeatedly stealing bicycles and electric scooters in District X (Kőbánya) and Zugló.

One million forint in damage: serial thief caught in Kőbánya
According to information from police.hu, Budapest police arrested a 31-year-old man on 7 August at Kőbánya Upper Railway Station, suspected of repeatedly stealing bicycles and electric scooters.
Based on the available data, on the night of 6 August, the suspect kicked in the gate of an apartment building in Kőbánya, then took a bicycle from the courtyard. On the same day, he also climbed over the fence into the courtyard of a neighbouring apartment building, where he took a towel and a bathing suit from a clothes line. According to investigators, the previous day he had stolen two electric scooters from an outbuilding of a detached house in Zugló, also by climbing over a fence.
Investigators in Kőbánya have also connected the man to two further bicycle thefts in District X. The total damage caused by all the thefts in Zugló and Kőbánya amounts to one million forint.
He was questioned on suspicion of four counts of theft as a felony and one count of theft as a misdemeanour, then arrested, and authorities initiated proceedings for his detention.
