A Kecskemét man attempted twice to obtain prohibited substances online, but on both occasions customs officers at the airport intercepted the packages.

The Bács-Kiskun County Prosecutor's Office has recommended charges of drug possession against a Kecskemét man who made two attempts to purchase prohibited substances online in the summer of 2024.
The accused first had a package sent to himself in June from a website operating on a hidden network. The package, which arrived from Germany in what appeared to be an innocuous envelope, was examined by customs air-cargo inspectors, who found 11.2 grammes of cocaine inside.
The package was withheld, and the addressee waited for it in vain. Despite this, he placed another order from the same source not long afterwards. The second shipment also failed to get through inspection: a crystalline substance was found in the envelope, which contained amphetamine.
The man admitted to the offence. The prosecutor's office wishes to close the case by means of a penal order, bypassing trial proceedings. Within this framework, it is seeking a suspended prison sentence for the accused, as well as the confiscation of the seized materials and that the man pay the procedural costs of approximately 700,000 forints.
The Kecskemét District Court will make the final decision.
