A man has been remanded in custody for one month on suspicion of abusing and forcing a minor cellmate into sexual contact with another inmate at a correctional facility near Miskolc.

Miskolc District Court has ordered a month of pre-trial detention for a prisoner. According to the charges, the man forcibly compelled his underage cellmate to have sexual contact with three other inmates at a prison near Miskolc.
According to court information, the suspect regularly beat and kicked the victim to coerce his cooperation. When the young prisoner refused, four inmates joined forces one evening after bedtime. They assaulted and then choked their victim into unconsciousness.
They brought him back to consciousness from his stupor with water or blows, then tied him to the bed. Three inmates then raped the minor in succession. The detained man did not personally commit the rape, but actively participated in his companions' crime, according to a statement from Miskolc Court.
The suspect's actions constitute serious criminal offences, including sexual violence against a minor committed by a group. The man had previously committed crimes and carried out the present offence whilst serving a final sentence of imprisonment. According to the court, there is a risk of flight, concealment, and that he would influence witnesses or destroy evidence if released. The risk of reoffending is also real.
