Early Wednesday morning, István Szakács announced on social media that he had been taken into custody. According to a post cited by 444, his wife later provided details: seven uniformed officials arrived at their house at dawn, carried out a search of the flat, and then took the man with them.
According to the woman's account, her husband did not commit any act of violence. He merely expressed his outrage in an earlier message in which he stated that if the prime minister were illegally taken away, they would not remain idle either.
Péter Takács, who previously worked as a health ministry undersecretary, also responded to the case. According to him, the charge against the opinion leader concerns preparation of a terrorist act, and proceedings were initiated due to earlier video content.
According to 444, the video in question was recorded on 25 June, in which Szakács responded to a post by an opposition politician. In reference to prosecutorial proceedings concerning the head of government, he conveyed the message that if the prime minister were taken away, hundreds of thousands of people would take to the streets and rescue him.
Police have not yet officially confirmed the fact of the detention, nor whether the man is being suspected of preparing a terrorist act.
