Mobilsign Kft.: Rogán's invention royalties exceed total company wage costs
The combined salary of Mobilsign Kft.'s 12 employees is less than what Rogán Antal receives annually from the company. A total of 2.1 billion forints in invention royalties have been paid to the former minister to date.
Rogán's invention royalties exceeded Mobilsign's own employees' salaries for seven years
According to the Mobilsign Kft. balance sheet for 2025, former minister Rogán Antal received more money from the company on his own than all 12 of its employees combined – writes 444.
The invention utilisation royalty is based on a patent registered in 2016, relating to a digital signature procedure. Rogán was listed on paper as the third inventor in the application. Since then, Mobilsign – whose sole owner is currently Csik Balázs, one of Rogán's co-inventors – has transferred substantial sums to the former minister every year.
The total of invention royalties paid to date exceeds 2.1 billion forints. In 2024, a record was set: that year, 456 million forints were paid to Rogán. For 2025, this sum decreased to 300 million forints, in line with the company's falling revenue – revenue fell from 1.1 billion to 900 million forints.
According to the balance sheet figures, the company drastically reduced its personal expense items from 805 million to 599 million forints. The number of employees fell from 15 to 12, with normal wage costs declining by only 30 million forints – the larger savings occurred within the "other expenses" item, whose total closely tracks the invention royalties listed in Rogán's asset declarations according to 444.
The only significant discrepancy occurred in 2022: Rogán declared 288 million forints in invention royalties whilst the company's balance sheet showed 382 million forints for that year under other expenses.
Despite the revenue decline, Mobilsign closed the year profitably: its net profit increased from 172 million to 174 million forints in 2025. Owner Csik Balázs withdrew 150 million forints in dividends from the company.
Rogán Antal will soon submit his final, or at least for some time certainly final, asset declaration to parliament. Following that – according to 444 – he will no longer be obliged to submit such declarations. Whether invention royalty payments continue after Rogán no longer holds ministerial office may become clear from the company's next annual balance sheet.
