NKA scandal: two people detained over Fásy-linked documentary film case
Financial investigators from the NAV have detained a company owner and a woman who engaged companies linked to the Fásy family to produce a documentary film. The court will decide on their detention on Wednesday morning.
NAV detains two people in NKA case surrounding Fásy documentary film
According to information obtained by 24.hu, financial investigators from the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) detained a company owner and manager on Monday who commissioned businesses linked to Fásy Ádám's daughter and wife to participate in the production of the four-part documentary film entitled Kéz, szív, lélek – magyar kortárs művészek nyomában. The man was accompanied by a woman who has also been taken into custody; the court will decide on their detention on Wednesday morning.
The step was taken as part of criminal proceedings related to support payments totalling over 17 billion forints distributed by the National Cultural Foundation (NKA). According to a NAV statement cited by Telex, the suspects allegedly filed for over 80 million forints in grant money under the name of the economic entity in question for documentary film production at the National Cultural Support Office (NKTK), and settled the amount in April 2026 — despite the fact that the film had not actually been completed at the time of settlement.
The project was awarded to Munkácsy Art Kft., a company that ostensibly has no connection to the Fásy family: it was managed by a man named Szabó Sándor. However, Szabó had previously been in a joint venture with Fásy Ádám; IRM Magyarország Zrt. was involved in a stem-cell treatment scandal, as a result of which Fásy was sentenced to ten months in prison, suspended — as Telex recalls.
For the first two episodes of the documentary film, Munkácsy Art received 82.55 million forints from the NKA's individual support framework 790. For the third and fourth parts, former culture minister Hankó Balázs transferred an additional 89.9 million forints from his own ministerial framework 447.
Munkácsy Art involved Jules Media Kft. in production, which is solely owned by Fásy Zsüliett and received a commission valued at 12.25 million forints plus VAT for content production on the first two parts of the film. MVSZ 2015 Kft. also became part of the project, a company jointly owned by Fásy Zsüliett and her mother, Fásyné Gurzó Mária. According to the contract signed on 29 December 2025, this company worked on the project for a sum of 31.8 million forints plus VAT: their tasks included production preparation, screenplay development, crew coordination, provision of technical equipment, and carrying out PR and marketing work related to the film.
According to Telex's information, NAV investigators questioned several employees of the NKA and NKTK as witnesses last week, specifically asking them about the documentary film.
In connection with the NKA scandal, a total of seven people have been detained so far: five of them are under criminal supervision, whilst two remain in detention.
