On the evening of 13 July, the Mecsek commando stopped a passenger car near Bólya. The officers took both people for questioning. The female passenger's drug test also came back positive. Following their interrogation, they were taken into custody, and the authorities requested the court to order their pre-trial detention.

According to the HVG, which received information from multiple independent sources, the male passenger is a Pécs municipal representative. The news portal also contacted the politician's expected defence attorney, who disclosed only that the briefing has not yet been concluded and he is currently in negotiations with the family.
