The Eger District Prosecutor's Office is bringing Ferenc Bujáki, the settlement leader of Terpes, before court in expedited proceedings – according to 24.hu.
The man visited a shop in Eger in early May, where at the checkout he scanned the barcode of a cheaper item instead of the more expensive article. According to the publication's information, he took building blocks in this manner. The method involves using the barcode of a less valuable item at the till whilst actually taking a more expensive product.
The defendant claims he has not yet received official notification of the proceedings, although he was aware of it. The hearing will take place on 10 July in Eger. According to 24.hu, the settlement leader had previously attempted something similar twice, but was caught the third time.
