Unknown assailants stole a safe containing tens of millions of forints and euros from an elderly woman's home in a small Somogy settlement. Police are investigating and have recovered and returned the money.

On 2 July, burglars broke into the home of an elderly woman in a small Somogy settlement and took her safe, which contained approximately 35 million forints and 25,000 euros. According to a report from Police.hu, the Kaposvár Police Headquarters launched proceedings in a theft case.
A couple from the victim's circle is suspected of being behind the crime; they had regularly assisted the woman with daily tasks in the past. Following the commission of the offence, the man left the country by car, prompting authorities to issue an international arrest warrant against him.
Investigators conducted a search of a property courtyard, where the stolen safe was found. The sum stored inside was recovered intact; police seized it and subsequently returned it in full to its owner.
