Tesla registration plate stolen on Bem Quay – police seek suspects
Three men stole a registration plate from a parked Tesla on Bem Quay in Budapest's 2nd District on 8–9 July 2026. Police are seeking the perpetrators based on footage.

According to police.hu, the Budapest Metropolitan Police, 2nd District Police Headquarters has initiated proceedings on suspicion of the crime of misuse of a unique identifier by unknown perpetrators.
Based on available information, three men removed the registration plate from a parked Tesla motor vehicle on Bem Quay in the 2nd District between 20:00 on 8 July 2026 and 18:00 on 9 July 2026, then fled the scene with it. Camera footage was made of the perpetrators.
Police request that anyone who recognises the men visible in the footage, or who has information about their whereabouts or the offence, should contact the Telephone Witness hotline on 06-80-555-111 – anonymously if preferred, 24 hours a day – or emergency services on 112.
