Police, government officials and members of civil organisations jointly conducted checks, during which they arrested a man suspected of drug trafficking and located several wanted persons.

A comprehensive crime prevention and control operation took place in the two Northern Great Plain settlements on one of the days of the week – the police announced on their website.
More than a hundred people participated in the work under the coordination of Hajdúböszörmény Police Headquarters. Besides uniformed officers, county government office staff, fishery and field wardens, citizen patrols, and representatives of the electricity supplier were also present.
During the full-day operation, several hundred individuals were checked. Ten people were taken into custody, five of whom had previously been wanted. Unlawful electricity use came to light at several locations, and one person was placed in administrative detention.
During traffic inspections, action was taken against forty-seven vehicle drivers for various breaches; in two cases, suspicion of alcohol consumption at the wheel arose.
As part of the DELTA Programme, a local resident was also taken into custody, suspected of selling prohibited substances. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him on charges of drug trafficking.
The county police headquarters announced that similar coordinated operations can be expected in the region in the future.
