Electoral register fraud: TASZ files complaint over Roma voters
TASZ has filed a complaint after thousands were added to the Roma ethnic register without their knowledge, depriving them of the possibility to vote on the party list.

According to Google News HU — Crime (hu) sources, civil rights organisation TASZ has filed a complaint on suspicion of electoral fraud after numerous citizens found themselves confronted at the polling booth with the fact that they had been added to the Roma ethnic register without request, and therefore could not vote on the party list.
The organisation was approached en masse by voters who only discovered at the moment of voting that they could only select a candidate on the ethnic list. The register expanded in March, at the last moment, in two larger waves; according to final data, approximately 44,000 people were listed on it.
According to TASZ information, during the campaign period more than 10,000 people were added to the register via proxy, which suggests that the data of those affected was misused and false applications were submitted in their names.
The organisation also drew attention to the fact that during the campaign, food packages were distributed in several municipalities by figures linked to the National Roma Self-Government and Fidesz. The packages could often only be handed over after providing personal data — this data could subsequently be used for fraudulent submission of applications for registration on the electoral register.
Although many were able to deregister from the register, there were those who ultimately could not vote according to their original intention.
