Bottle attack during altercation, 18-year-old in coma in Verona

According to ANSA Cronaca, the medical commission for assessing brain death of an 18-year-old from Castagnaro (Verona) was not convened during today: the meeting is expected for tomorrow. The young man, Italian of Moroccan origin, has been admitted to the Neurosurgical Intensive Care unit at Borgo Trento hospital since last Sunday morning, kept alive by support therapies.

The boy had been struck in the head with a bottle during an altercation over trivial reasons in Cerea, in the province of Verona. The Integrated University Hospital Company of Verona communicated in a statement that, given the serious conditions, the prognosis is fatal.

For the assault, a peer of the victim has been arrested, also Italian of second-generation, who on Monday afternoon turned himself in to the Carabinieri. He is currently accused of attempted murder, a crime hypothesis that could worsen in the event of the 18-year-old's death.
