Knife threats during Facebook livestream: man arrested in Parma province

Friends and acquaintances of the victim saw him wielding a large kitchen knife and threatening his cohabiting partner during a Facebook livestream. According to ANSA Cronaca, carabinieri in Collecchio, in Parma province, have arrested a 30-year-old for maltreatment of his partner.

On the morning of 29 August, the officers intervened at the couple's home following a report from the woman's acquaintances. The victim attempted to minimise the incident, attributing a wound to her temple to a domestic accident. However, the evidence collected and testimonies obtained allowed activation of the "Red Code".

The situation escalated a few hours later, when a report came to 112 of another livestream in which the man attacked his partner again. The carabinieri returned to the home and found a wardrobe door torn from its hinges, a kitchen knife on the table and a fresh abrasion on the woman's face.

Only after the aggressor was removed did the victim find the courage to recount months of physical violence, threats and extortion. Following the validation hearing, the judge confirmed the arrest and ordered pre-trial custody in prison for the 30-year-old.
