An Iraqi citizen was struck and thrown to the ground in the street. The victim filed a complaint against Giuseppe Barboni, who had shared video of the assault on social media.

On 11 July 2026, in the centre of San Benedetto del Tronto, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, a man from Iraq was assaulted while on the street in viale De Gasperi. The victim was knocked to the ground and beaten.
The foreign citizen subsequently filed a complaint against Giuseppe Barboni, a local shopkeeper and activist with the Futuro Nazionale movement. The latter had also shared images of the assault on Facebook.
The medical examiner found that the victim had injuries that would require two weeks of healing. Following the report, the investigating magistrate in Ascoli Piceno ordered the opening of criminal proceedings against the assailant, hypothesising the offence of bodily harm.
