During the night hours, officers from Ancona Police Headquarters handled two separate emergencies, both involving individuals who had been assaulted and were unable to provide a clear account of events.
The first incident occurred around midnight in the Archi district, where a festive event had been scheduled. Security personnel alerted operators from the Flying Squad and 118 emergency services, indicating a man in an evident state of disorientation. From the accounts of the security guards, it emerged that a discussion between the victim and others present had escalated into a scuffle. Before the patrols arrived at the scene, the possible perpetrators had already fled. The injured man was taken to the city hospital for treatment. Subsequently, officers identified a person matching the description given, who however claimed to have had no role in the matter.
The second intervention took place in Piazza del Plebiscito, with the assistance of an Army patrol as part of the "Safe Streets" initiative. Here, police officers found a young man visibly altered, very likely as a result of excessive alcohol consumption. The youth claimed to have been assaulted by a group of people, but provided no useful details to trace them. He refused hospital admission.
Investigations are ongoing for both incidents aimed at clarifying the exact sequence of events and identifying those responsible, including through obtaining recordings from surveillance cameras installed in the affected areas.
