Anagni: woman arrested for cocaine trafficking

In the Lazio city of Anagni, a 41-year-old woman has been arrested and placed under house arrest following an investigation into drug trafficking conducted by the judicial police of Frosinone.

The woman, born in 1984 and with a criminal record already marked by similar episodes, became the focus of investigators who had been monitoring sensitive areas of the province for some time. The operation was organised by the Mobile Squad, which deployed officers in uniform and plainclothes, supported by dogs trained to detect illicit substances.

During a search carried out at her home and on her person, officers recovered a quantity of cocaine weighing a total of 11.08 grammes. In addition to the drug, a substantial amount of cash was found: 3,570 euros, which investigators believe to be proceeds from drug sales. The woman's mobile telephone was also confiscated as material evidence.

After the necessary checks, the 41-year-old was placed under arrest for the offence of possession for purposes of trafficking. Following completion of the prescribed procedures, the restrictive measure was converted into precautionary detention at her own home, by order of the competent magistrate.

It is emphasised that the suspect enjoys the presumption of innocence enshrined in the Constitution: her possible responsibility may be established exclusively at the conclusion of proceedings ending with an irreversible sentence.
