Quarrel between spouses in Lanzo Torinese: 83-year-old intubated and transferred by helicopter

An 83-year-old woman is hospitalised in intensive care at the Molinette hospital in Turin in critical condition after an assault that occurred in her home on via Frasca in Lanzo Torinese. This is reported by Il Fatto Quotidiano — Cronaca, also citing La Stampa.

According to the reconstruction of the initial hours, on the morning of 13 September the two spouses — who according to initial witness statements were effectively living separately under the same roof — had a discussion. The quarrel escalated into a physical assault: the husband, 87 years old, allegedly pushed the woman, who fell backwards, striking her head violently and losing consciousness.

Operators from the Croce Reale of Venaria and 118 emergency personnel arrived at the scene. The woman had a serious head wound, several facial injuries and fractures. She was intubated on site and transported by helicopter to the hospital. The prognosis remains guarded.

The husband himself reportedly contacted the carabinieri. The man was subsequently taken to the barracks and questioned. The military police are now working to precisely reconstruct the sequence of events and the dynamics of the assault, gathering witness statements and additional evidence to clarify what happened during the discussion.
