The "Alloggiati Web" portal of the Vicenza Police Headquarters generated an alert upon verification of the man's registration, who was subject to judicial restrictions, at a city accommodation facility. Officers from the patrol units intervened promptly on the scene.
The authorisations and the violation established
The Court of Appeal of Venice had ordered house arrest with an ordinance that allowed the man to leave his home only during specific time slots and for documented life necessities, as well as for specific medical authorisations. Yesterday he had been granted an extraordinary permit to go to the nearest hospital. However, detailed checks by police officers established that the man had used the permit to reach an accommodation facility in the company of a woman, not the hospital.
The arrest and subsequent measure
Given the violation of the prescriptions imposed by the judicial authority, the man was arrested for escaping. The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Vicenza was informed of the arrest and ordered the immediate re-imposition of the precautionary measure of house arrest in the residence identified by the Judicial Authority.
