Machete attack at Crema station: two Egyptians arrested, twelve expulsion procedures initiated

Two citizens of Egyptian nationality have been arrested on suspicion of attempted double murder following a violent attack with machetes that occurred on the evening of 1 August near Crema railway station. According to cremaoggi.it, the operation was conducted by the Mobile Squad of the Cremona Police Headquarters together with officers from the Crema Police Commissioner's office, under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cremona.

The two suspects have been transferred to prison. The investigative activities have furthermore initiated expulsion procedures from national territory against twelve people involved, in various capacities, in the same context, to which are added further measures for prevention and combating crime.

Honourable member Silvana Comaroli commented on the developments of the investigation, expressing full appreciation towards the State Police. "I express keen appreciation towards the State Police of Cremona, led by Questore Ambra, for the excellent operation that led to the arrest of two citizens of Egyptian nationality," the deputy declared.

Comaroli described the operation as "a significant example of the commitment demonstrated daily by the Police Forces in guaranteeing adequate conditions of security and legality throughout the entire provincial territory," with particular reference to the Crema area.

The deputy further emphasised the phenomenon of juvenile crime of foreign origin, considering necessary "careful preventative activity, monitoring and intervention by the competent institutions". She concluded by acknowledging the Police Forces' "professionalism and scrupulousness" in their daily activities and "constant dedication" in protecting public order.
