A criminal gang is responsible for a series of 63 thefts in hotels in the Italian autonomous province of Bolzano-South Tyrol. Carabinieri arrested twelve alleged members of the group. Five further people were placed under house arrest, whilst two suspects remain at large.
The thefts occurred from August 2025 mainly in luxury establishments in the region. The total damage is estimated at around €300,000. During searches, investigators were able to seize three kilograms of cocaine.
According to the Tiroler Tageszeitung, those arrested are Albanians aged around 30. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Bolzano coordinated the investigation together with law enforcement. According to information from the investigators, the alleged perpetrators are believed to have also been active in other Italian regions.
