According to napolivillage.com, officers from San Giovanni-Barra Police Station discovered and seized a semi-automatic pistol, ammunition and controlled substances yesterday evening inside a building in the Barra area of Naples.
The discovery occurred during a territorial control operation, conducted with the support of a canine unit from the General Prevention Office and Public Emergency Response. Officers located the material well hidden inside a cavity: a semi-automatic "Smith and Wesson" pistol calibre 22, 56 rounds of the same calibre, 3 packets of cocaine weighing approximately 24 grammes and 3 packets of hashish weighing approximately 5 grammes.
The operation forms part of extraordinary control operations ordered by Naples Police Headquarters to counter unlawful possession of weapons and trafficking in narcotics.
