Bergamo's local police seized nearly 300 grammes of hashish and cocaine during an extraordinary territorial control operation. One person was prosecuted for drug dealing, three others for possession for personal use.

According to ilgiorno.it, Bergamo's local police seized just under 300 grammes of hashish and cocaine during an extraordinary territorial control operation carried out in the afternoon. An operation that resulted in one prosecution for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing and three administrative violations issued for possession of drugs for personal use.
The operation involved four patrols from the Urban Security Intervention Unit supported by the canine unit, one patrol from the Bergamo Centre Territorial Unit and one from the Commercial Police Unit. The checks initially concentrated between via Furietti and via Luzzatti, where officers identified fifteen people of various ages and carried out checks through law enforcement databases.
The checks continued along the Teb cycle path in the section between via Santissimi Maurizio and Fermo and via Borgo Palazzo. The operation also covered via Rosa, Pertini park where five people were identified, and the Olmi park area. The activity aimed at both tackling drug dealing and preventing situations of urban degradation in public spaces in the city.
