A 39-year-old man was reported to authorities in Biella for unlawful possession of drugs after hiding cocaine and hashish in his mouth and attempting to flee during a traffic stop. His accomplice, who tested positive for cocaine, refused further examinations.

A traffic stop in the city centre led to two people being reported by Biella's carabinieri. The mobile patrol stopped a Volkswagen Polo with three men on board.
A passenger, a 39-year-old originally from Nigeria, immediately caught the officers' attention: he was agitated, without documents, and spoke with his jaw clenched. The carabinieri ordered him to open his mouth, revealing a large transparent plastic package.
The man then attempted to flee, running towards a green area and throwing the package into a flowerbed, before being stopped. Inside the package five doses of cocaine and one of hashish were found.
The driver of the vehicle, in an evident state of psychophysical impairment, tested positive on a saliva swab for cocaine, but subsequently refused further examinations at hospital. Both men, with criminal records, were reported: the Nigerian for unlawful possession of drugs, resistance, and failure to produce documents; the other for refusal to undergo tests to check for driving under the influence of substances.
