Girls removed from protective facility found in Lazio

Two young girls, Alisya and Sarah, have been located by carabinieri in an apartment in Formia, in southern Lazio. The children had previously been removed from the protective facility in Civitella Alfedena, in the province of L'Aquila.

According to information that emerged, a relative of the mother had taken the sisters into their own home. During the recovery operation, the children expressed the wish not to be separated from their mother. The youngest showed particular resistance to the intervention of the military personnel, who nonetheless proceeded with bringing the minors back.

The incident falls under the offence of child abduction, a criminal violation that made intervention by law enforcement necessary to return the girls to a safe location.
