Drug operation at Magliana: seven arrests, including Fabietti, right-hand man of Diabolik
Seven people were arrested today in the Magliana district of Rome in an operation conducted by law enforcement against drug trafficking. Among those detained is Fabrizio Fabietti, believed by investigators to be the right-hand man of Maurizio Zuccaro, known by the nickname "Diabolik".
The investigation began several months ago and led to the execution of numerous house searches in the heart of the Roman district. Officers seized substantial quantities of drugs, including cocaine and hashish, as well as sums of cash believed to be proceeds from illegal activity.
Fabietti was already known to judicial records for his close ties with the clan headed by Zuccaro. The criminal group controlled much of the drug dealing in the south-west zone of the capital, managing a veritable drugs trafficking empire that supplied pushers in the area.
The investigations, coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, made it possible to reconstruct the organisational mechanisms of the association: from managing supplies to retail sales, to laundering the profits. Numerous telephone interceptions and surveillance operations provided investigators with the evidence necessary to request preventive custody.
Today's operation represents a new blow struck against organised crime in the drug trafficking sector in the capital. The authorities emphasised the importance of the result achieved, highlighting how Magliana continues to be one of the most complex areas to monitor in terms of combating drug trafficking.
