A man has been remanded in custody after being stopped by military police with 160 grammes of drug concealed in his home.

The carabinieri have arrested a man in Sassari, accused of drug trafficking and unlawful possession of drugs. The operation was launched yesterday, when the military police stopped the suspect near his home and searched him.
In his trouser pockets the individual was carrying just over one gramme of cocaine. However, during a search of the flat, the military police discovered 160 grammes of the same substance, divided into three packages and hidden inside a piece of furniture. Approximately two and a half grammes of marijuana were also found in the dwelling.
The carabinieri confiscated a precision scales and over 8,000 euros in cash, assessed as possible proceeds from trafficking. The detainee was transferred to Bancali prison pending validation of the arrest.
