Police operation in Esquilino: arrests, detention and urban exclusion orders
The State Police carried out an operation in the Esquilino district of Rome: one detention, one arrest and seven exclusion orders.

Google News IT — Crime (it) reports the results of the latest State Police operation in the Esquilino district of Rome: one detention, one arrest, seven exclusion orders and ten administrative fines for manifest intoxication in a public place.
The operation, coordinated by the Commander of the local Police Station, targeted predatory crimes and micro-scale drug dealing, whilst also conducting prevention activities against urban deterioration.
Exclusion orders and urban exclusion ban
Five non-EU citizens received exclusion orders. Two others were issued with urban exclusion bans (daspo urbano) for disruptive conduct, associated with clear signs of alcohol intoxication, deemed to compromise the safety and livability of the areas subject to police checks.
Drug dealer stopped in via Giolitti
On the micro-trafficking front, officers from the Esquilino Police Station arrested a drug dealer operating in via Giolitti. At the time of his detention he was carrying 24 doses of hashish and marijuana, and approximately 900 euros in cash divided into small denomination notes, believed to be proceeds from illicit activity.
Tourist robbed: Chadian national detained
The operation concluded with the detention of a Chadian national, located by officers shortly after he committed a robbery against a tourist. According to the account given in the complaint, the victim was caught by surprise from behind whilst absorbed in a telephone call as she was returning to her hotel. The man allegedly snatched the telephone from her hands and, after pushing her violently to the ground, fled the scene.
The immediate geolocation of the stolen device enabled officers to identify the alleged perpetrator in via Giolitti, where he was apprehended within minutes. The judicial authority, at the validation hearing, ordered that he be remanded in custody in prison.
It should be noted that the evidence described pertains to the preliminary investigation phase and that, for all those under investigation, the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction by an irrevocable judgment.
