A timely intervention by officers thwarted a robbery at the "Ipertosano" supermarket located on via Valcamonica in Brescia. The alert was received via the single emergency number 112, raised by a security officer at the store.
The anti-theft staff had noticed three individuals removing several bottles of spirits from the shelves. The suspects were heading towards the exit with the intention of paying for only part of the goods taken. The security guard managed to stop them, allowing the patrol car and officers from Carmine Police Station to arrive.
Once at police headquarters, investigators subjected the three to a search. In addition to the stolen goods, which were returned to the shop management, a flick knife was found hidden among the clothing of the 34-year-old Moldovan.
The arrested individuals are a Russian citizen aged 34 with no fixed address, a Moldovan of the same age and a Romanian aged 30, the latter two residing in the Lombardy capital. Their criminal record includes offences against property, offences against the person, unlawful possession of weapons and matters related to immigration.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed the detentions for aggravated theft in concert. Subsequently, Questor Paolo Sartori issued differentiated measures: for the two residing in Brescia an oral warning for public security, a precursor to special surveillance; for the Russian of no fixed abode a decree of removal from the country, leading to expulsion.
