Pursuit in Casoria: 32-year-old stopped with drugs, ammunition and revoked driving licence

The State Police arrested a 32-year-old man in Casoria, in the province of Naples, on Thursday afternoon, with a history of specific offences for possession of narcotics for drug-dealing purposes. This is reported by Google News IT — Crime (it), citing a statement from the Questura.

Officers from the Afragola Police Station, engaged in a territory control operation on via Giacomo Matteotti, spotted the 32-year-old on a scooter. At the sight of the police, the man accelerated in an attempt to evade the stop, ignoring the order to halt.

Following a short pursuit, the rider abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but the officers caught up with and apprehended him. Found on the man were 19 packages of marijuana totalling approximately 25 grammes, 4 blocks of hashish totalling approximately 8 grammes and €145 in banknotes of various denominations.

Keys to a car parked nearby allowed the officers to extend the search to the vehicle, where several bags containing marijuana totalling approximately 960 grammes and hashish totalling approximately 870 grammes were found.

The search then moved to the suspect's residence. Inside the flat, carefully hidden, officers found 17 rounds of ammunition, a bag of marijuana weighing 7 grammes and various drug-packaging materials.

The man was arrested for unlawful possession of narcotics for drug-dealing purposes and reported for unauthorised possession of ammunition and driving with a revoked licence, a repeated violation within the two-year period.
