Castel Volturno: two arrests and over one kilogram of hashish seized in anti-drug operations
The State Police of Caserta have arrested two people for drug dealing in Castel Volturno. A total of over one kilogram of hashish and marijuana were seized.
Two arrests and major drug seizure in Castel Volturno
In the afternoon of yesterday the State Police of Caserta detained two people on suspicion of possession of narcotic substances with intent to distribute, as reported by questure.poliziadistato.it.
Officers from the Public Safety Commission of Castel Volturno carried out checks at a commercial establishment and against its patrons, as part of an operation aimed at combating drug dealing in the area.
In the Ischitella locality, a nineteen-year-old local man was found in possession of approximately 650 grammes of hashish, materials for packaging and weighing the substance, as well as 430 euros in notes of various denominations.
The activity then shifted to the Baia Verde area, where a twenty-three-year-old man, already under house arrest for drug-related offences, was caught with approximately 14 grammes of hashish and almost 2 grammes of marijuana.
During a search of an open area of land in the same zone, officers — with support from the canine unit — found and seized a bag containing approximately one kilogram of hashish along with a precision scale.
Both men were arrested on the orders of the duty Public Prosecutor.
