Gun shots fired in San Severo town centre: three injured, 50-year-old arrested
Three people were shot in the heart of San Severo, in the Foggia province. A middle-aged man with mobility difficulties was detained overnight. The dispute allegedly arose from a quarrel that occurred the previous evening.

Three people were injured following a sequence of gunshots fired in the centre of San Severo, in the province of Foggia. The incident occurred around midday in Piazza Allegato, a short distance from a local establishment. In the hours that followed, the carabinieri detained a 50-year-old man.
The targeted victim, a citizen originally from Morocco, is in critical condition and is being treated in the intensive care unit of Foggia hospital. The other two injured, both Italian nationals, happened to be in the area and were struck by bullets. Their wounds are not serious.
The suspect, identified as Antonio Bevilacqua, has a record of minor criminal convictions and moves about using a motorised wheelchair. The military police quickly focused on him: shortly after the incident they searched his house and subjected him to a gunshot residue test. He was detained overnight, followed by transfer to Foggia prison.
Based on initial information gathered, the 50-year-old and the Moroccan citizen allegedly had a heated argument the previous evening. The dispute reportedly resumed in the morning and culminated in a burst of seven shots. The two injured Italian nationals had no connection to the matter.
The carabinieri, acting under the direction of the prosecutor's office, are investigating further to precisely establish the reasons for the shooting.
