Territory control operation in Bolzano: bicycle thefts, false identity and two expulsions

According to questure.poliziadistato.it, Bolzano State Police intensified territory control operations on the instructions of Prefect Giuseppe Ferrari, with the aim of preventing and combating crime. In recent days, with support from the Lombardy Crime Prevention Unit, over 300 people were identified, approximately 60 vehicles were checked, and 10 individuals were reported to the judicial authorities for various offences, largely for breaching mandatory exclusion orders.

Tunisian citizen detained with bicycle of illicit origin

On 3 September, a patrol from the Mobile Squad stopped a 36-year-old Tunisian citizen found riding a bicycle of high value. The individual, already known to law enforcement and unemployed, was unable to demonstrate ownership of the vehicle, claiming to have received it from another person — also known for numerous offences against property, including thefts of bicycles of the same type.

Brought to police headquarters, the man was also found to be subject to a mandatory exclusion order from Bolzano issued by the Prefect. He was therefore reported to the judicial authorities for receiving stolen goods and breaching the preventive measure.

Two reports for false attestation of identity

The Mobile Squad reported two other individuals for falsely attesting their identity to a public official: a 43-year-old Italian citizen from Caltanissetta and a 21-year-old Tunisian citizen. The latter was also subject to a mandatory exclusion order and was reported to the judicial authorities for this offence as well.

Moroccan national expelled to Milan reception centre following bicycle theft

Following a report to the Operations Centre of a bicycle theft, Mobile Squad officers promptly intercepted the alleged perpetrator, a Moroccan citizen without documents. Brought to police headquarters, his irregular status on Italian territory emerged. The Prefect of Bolzano issued an expulsion order against him with escort to the Corelli reception centre in Milan, from where he will be repatriated to his country of origin in the coming days.

Indian citizen expelled by flight from Milan Malpensa

On the same day, the Immigration Office ordered the expulsion of an irregular Indian citizen who had received a decree rejecting his residence permit. The man was escorted by police on a flight departing from Milan Malpensa bound for New Delhi.

Italian citizen detained for attempted theft using crowbar

During routine evening patrol, officers noticed an Italian citizen already known for offences against property tampering with a tool on a bicycle. Upon seeing the police, he attempted to flee by throwing away the object, an iron cutter. Quickly apprehended, he was reported to the judicial authorities for attempted theft, damage to property, and unlawful possession of crowbars or altered keys.
