An elderly couple residing in Modena has reported handing over their savings to Mario Adinolfi, founder of the Popolo della Famiglia, falling victim to a fraud for €79,000. The spouses recounted trusting the man, attracted by the values he professed, only to discover that at the agreed deadline they would not see the money again.

"We gave him our savings because we believed in his values and he took €79,000 from us," the couple declared. When they asked for the return of their capital, Adinolfi allegedly responded by accusing them of greed.

The matter is part of the broader context of Adinolfi's arrest in Rome for an alleged million-euro fraud linked to the "collective betting" system and tax evasion. The investigating judge ordered house arrest for the man, considered socially dangerous.
