Anti-corruption operation at Reggio Calabria municipality
Four people were arrested this morning in Reggio Calabria on charges of corruption, reports ANSA Cronaca. Officers from the mobile squad executed a precautionary custody order issued by the judge for preliminary investigations at the request of prosecutor Giuseppe Borrelli.
Among those arrested are two employees from the technical office of the municipality and two local entrepreneurs, administrators of two companies that have now been seized. One of the public employees was taken into custody; the judge ordered house arrest for the other three.
The investigation concerns the management of public tenders and the issuing of authorisations to the entrepreneurs involved. Details of the investigation will be presented at a press conference scheduled for 12:00 at police headquarters in Reggio Calabria.
